We looked in the Phoenix area for about a year. Our
Realtor showed us all types of other properties (foreclosures,
short-sales, re-sales). Then a spec home came available
at Arroyo Mountain and it was a blessing. It was perfect
for us. It was like a dream, a vision I had. We are
happy.

We were being very particular about what we wanted
in a home and floor plan and after looking at other
builders and foreclosures, we decided to build with
Shea. We wanted a quality builder that had the floor
plan that we wanted and that’s what Shea gave us.

I started out looking at foreclosures and short sales.
They were all filthy and I knew I couldn’t do all
the fix up work myself and I started looking into how
much money it would take to bring them up to speed.
That’s when I decided to look at new home builders.
I walked into a spec home at Lost Canyon. I looked
at the floor plan and the upgrades and I made the deal
right then and there. Everyone accommodated my quick
timeframe for closing. You can tell the difference
in quality immediately when you walk into a Shea home.
And, the customer service is priceless. The 1-5-11
warranty inspections are great and way beyond the purchase
of the home.

We looked at foreclosures, re-sales, and REO’s. We
saw 150 homes. Everything was basically gutted. We
knew we would have to fix everything in a foreclosure
and landscaping, too. Then we saw an ad and went to
Arroyo Mountain. For the price, it just made sense
to buy new. Time was a factor for us. You would put
a bid in on a short sale or foreclosure and there was
never an answer. And, you don’t get a warranty on
a foreclosure. We just kept coming back to Shea Homes.

We occasionally looked for homes, some new, some foreclosures.
With Shea, we got the lot we wanted and the pricing
and incentives were very attractive. We didn’t have
to settle for someone else’s carpet and wallpaper.
We got to pick and choose what we wanted. Sometimes,
with other types of properties, the banks can’t make
up their minds on what they want to do. |
